Mick started driving full time in 2007 and was leading the NARA Battle of the Bluegrass (BoB) Rookie of the Year standings until being forced to miss a race at Ponderosa Speedway during the latter part of June due to a family medical emergency.  Even though Mick missed the BoB Series race in June he was still able to finish a strong 12th in the overall series points finishing only 80 points out of the top ten.  Mick followed up 2007 by finishing 5th in points in the 2008 BoB Series.  He began his racing career in go-karts at the age of 10 racing at tracks located in Kentucky and Ohio.  He quit racing go-karts in 1995 to begin crewing for his father and the Sansom Racing dirt modified team.
